Dog Retreats

Our 1 hour Retreats are inspired by Steve Mann’s Rucksack Walk concept, offering a guided experience designed to help you and your dog connect, focus, and thrive in an idyllic setting. Through a mix of circuit training, loose lead walking techniques, and canine enrichment activities, these retreats focus on increasing your dog’s focus and ability to settle in distracting environments. This unique approach not only strengthens the bond between you and your dog but also teaches you how to tire them out effectively without excessive exercise. It’s the perfect blend of structured training and quality time together, all while immersed in a rewarding, reward-based environment.

Why you should book this workshop:

• Guided Rucksack Walk Experience: Learn the principles of the Rucksack Walk to keep your dog engaged and calm, even around distractions.

• Circuit Training and Loose Lead Techniques: Develop your dog’s focus, control, and loose lead walking skills in varied, real-world settings.

• Canine Enrichment for Mental Stimulation: Engage your dog’s mind through enriching activities that provide satisfaction without the need for excessive physical exercise.

• Build Settling Skills Around Other Dogs: Help your dog learn to relax and settle in the presence of other dogs, creating a calm, positive experience.

• Strengthen Your Bond: Connect with your dog on a deeper level, enjoying quality time in an idyllic environment that encourages both learning and relaxation.

• Reward-Based Success: Benefit from positive reinforcement methods that foster an enjoyable, motivating, and stress-free experience for both of you.

Common Questions:

• Is this retreat suitable for all dogs, or who is this retreat suitable for?

Our retreats are ideal for dogs who have basic training skills and are comfortable in new environments. They’re especially suited for dogs needing focus-building and settling skills in the presence of distractions.

• Do I need any previous skills or experience?

Basic training experience is beneficial but not required. Each retreat is structured to accommodate different skill levels and help everyone progress.

•Can I bring my whole family, or is it just one handler per dog?

Families are welcome to join! This experience is a great way for the whole family to bond and learn alongside your dog. Please let us know if additional family members will attend.

• Do you offer one-to-one sessions during the retreat?

Yes, one-to-one sessions are available if you’d like personalised attention on specific skills or behaviours during the retreat.
